What is your take on Rita Saffioti's fairly recent disregard of bushfire recommendations by DFES & WAPC when she approved the housing subdivision in Mount Helena back in March 2019? With someone in such a position, who has now on the record complained of inheriting the problem of SP34, I wonder what hope we have in the next step of having this development stopped at WAPC’s level.


I cannot imagine SP34 getting approved by WAPC based on 3.7 State Planning Policy Planning in Bushfire Prone Areas 5.1 “Avoid any increase in the threat of bushfire to people, property and infrastructure. The preservation of life and the management of bushfire impact are paramount.” – with independent reports saying the intersection can…
