Going...Going... GONG

Last Long Weekend, Nigel $atterley, head of Australia's biggest private land development company, is probably choosing where to put his newest (and clearly heaviest, by the look of The West's photo!), Gong - the 2025 WA Business of the Year Award, courtesy of WA's Chamber of Minerals and Energy.

Hang on. Is Nigel $atterley a MINER?

The Nigel WE know wants to BULLDOZE 60,000 healthy, magnificent Jarrah and Marri trees, up to 200 years old, providing critical habitat for our Endangered Black Cockatoos, at so called 'North '$toneville'… land belonging to Perth’s Anglican Church.

The Chamber describes itself as "The leading advocate for the resources sector in WA."

Hang on. Are Perth's Hills now a 'RESOURCE???

Maybe Nigel's plans to blowup AN ENTIRE North $toneville HILL (true) to destroy its natural incline to conform with bushfire standards, and then moonscape and bitumise almost everything that's left for his URBAN HILLS development (minus the 'Hills' bit), across an area bigger than Kings Park, speaks the language of the Chamber?

Adding to his 'award winning business' credentials, Australia's Rich Lister is dragging WA taxpayers along his 6-year-long merry ride of appeals to overcome MULTIPLE WA Planning Commission, DFES, Mundaring Shire, Main Roads and City of Swan rejections, AND, 34 YEARS of relentless Community opposition, against a firetrap and destructive Hills plan.

Our Congrats to ALL the wonderful, worthy, West Australians justly recognised in this Year's WA Day Awards!  (minus Nigel)

And Congrats - every day of the year, to our incredible and wholesome Community whose commitment, unity and huge hearts are helping us all - Save Perth Hills!

If you'd like to help save North $toneville's trees from Nigel $atterley's bulldozers - you can 'adopt a tree' through our ‘Tree Keeper’ campaign!….

Head to our website site and click on ‘Help keep 60,000 trees!’

Or drop into the Mundaring Markets on this Sunday 8th June and say hello.

Or drop a few coins in the tins at Stoneville Fresh, Venessa's Vintage Treasures, Steep Hill Coffee, Mojos, Begonia Pets, Hills Fresh, Artisan Bakery, Cellarbrations and Darlington Liquor.
